Teacher Spotlight: Patrick Verner
For Patrick Verner of Georgia, becoming an early childhood educator was never a part of the plan. After serving in the Army, he never imagined that working with young children would be his true calling — nor did his friends or family. But once he stepped into the classroom, he found purpose, passion, and a new sense of fulfillment in shaping young minds.
However, Patrick faced a challenge that threatened not only his well-being but also his ability to continue teaching. A past injury from Afghanistan led to extensive dental work. The severe pain was unbearable, and each day became a painful reminder of one of the most difficult moments of his life. The financial burden, combined with the resurfacing of PTSD, became overwhelming.
Thankfully, Patrick’s boss noticed his distress and connected him with BOOST. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, BOOST was able to cover the entire $6,400 cost of his dental expenses, ensuring Patrick could receive the care he desperately needed.
Today, Patrick is pain-free for the first time in months. “I can focus on the future instead of dwelling on the past,” he shared. “I cannot thank the BOOST team enough.”
Stories like Patrick’s are why we do what we do. When teachers face unexpected hardships, BOOST is here to ensure they receive the support they need—so they can continue making a difference in the lives of children.
